About the Provider

Description: The mission of the First Baptist Church Weekday Preschool is to provide a quality program for 3 and 4-year-old children. Our desire is to foster positive growth in all areas of development: physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual. Positive self-esteem and social skills are believed to be as important as the achievement of basic academic readiness skills. Allowing for individual needs and expression is a priority. We believe that a child's spiritual development is the basis for quality of life and for all other areas of development. To teach a child of God's overwhelming love for him and for all of God's creation is the greatest gift we can ever give.

    worship with us

    in-person or online

We are one church with multiple opportunities for worship. All worship services have the same sermon though the styles of music are different.

Mt. Pisgah can seem like a big place. If Sunday will be your first time with us, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early.

We have two traditional services at 8:00am and 9:00am. We have a contemporary service at 11:05am. The 9:00am and 11:05am services are live-streamed on Facebook, YouTube, and in Church Center.

    Sunday school

    Christian education

We believe that there is no substitute for simply being comforted and confronted with God's Word on a consistent basis. Sunday school is our ongoing Christian education for all ages. Children are broken up into age- and stage-of-life appropriate groups, and there are 4 adult classes to choose from.

    Safety

    what you can do

Shelby County is currently under a mask advisory with exemptions for religious services. For those who are more comfortable with everyone wearing a mask, the 8:00am worship service requires that everyone wear a mask and will be dismissed by 8:45am. At the 9:00am and 11:05am worship services, masks are recommended but not required.

When in full classrooms or the lobby (or any time social distancing cannot be maintained), masks are recommended, as well.

The Second Baptist church of Shelbyville (colored) was organized and perfected as a society February 19, 1869. There were present at that meeting Revs. William Moore, J. Reece, J.B. Shaff, M. Brayles, W. Singleton, and William Neal. William Moore officiated as the moderator. The meetings for this purpose, as well as for the general use of the church, for the first six years in the history of the church were held in the third story of a brick building, later occupied by Julius Joseph. When first organized this church had but seven members connected with it, but in 1886 had a membership of seventy. A brick church was build on Hendricks street, costing two thousand five hundred dollars, and its size was thirty-three by fifty feet. This building was dedicated in 1875, Rev. Moses Brayles delivering the sermon on that occasion. This brick church edifice is still doing good service for this, the only colored Baptist church society within the county.

And somewhere inside I really wanted it. Sometimes I went into the room to see what they were doing, and Natasha, choosing the moment, quietly asked me, Mom knows nothing. No, I also quietly answered, and Natasha nodded in satisfaction. After a while, my mother called me, and leaving her room, I saw that my mother was sitting in an armchair in one dressing.

Gown with her feet on the stool, and Natasha was giving her a pedicure.

She could not get behind the wheel herself, because I drank a lot. The request was that I would come to Podolsk and take her and the Lexus wherever it was required. I came and did what she asked.

    Now discussing:

Both, obviously disappointed, turned away. And only now I noticed that the car was standing. - Something happened. Why are we standing. - I was alarmed, looking out the window.
