10 Disney Stars Who Went Crazy (And 10 Who Turned Out Fine)

While on Disney Channel, child stars seem so innocent and bright. Most kids watching think that they must be on top of the world. Audiences see them smile and laugh, and it seems like they’ll stay young forever. Of course, everyone grows up at some point. Television shows end and actors move on with their lives. Being a Disney star can be a great first step towards a long career as an actor, or it can all end after that one show.

Growing up in the spotlight is never easy. Disney has a bad reputation for churning out child stars who are involved in scandals and have terrible meltdowns. Between drug abuse, explicit pictures being leaked, and DUI’s, it’s hard to look past the mess that many of these kids go through. However, some come out the other end healthy and happy, emerging into adulthood relatively unscathed. While these aren’t the actors who usually make the tabloids, they deserve recognition as well.

The spotlight can do strange things to young actors. Everyone matures into adulthood in different ways, and it’s even more difficult under pressure.

Whether they went through a rough patch or stayed squeaky clean, here are the 10 Disney Stars Who Went Crazy (And 10 Who Turned Out Fine).

    20 Crazy: Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus is probably the most predictable star in the crazy category. While she’s turning her image back around with the release of her single Malibu, everyone still remembers her twerking on Robin Thicke at the VMAs.

She’s come a long way since her time on Hannah Montana. After the show ended, she wasn’t shy about her drug use or sexuality. She cut off her hair and dyed it platinum blonde. Cyrus had no problem appearing partially nude or completely nude in photos, and wore revealing clothing on stage. Everyone was wondering what her next controversial move would be.

Now, it seems her days swinging on wrecking ball and grinding in bathtubs are over. She’s grown her hair out and is back to being a brunette, and she’s stopped smoking. Her music style has evolved from hip hop to folky-pop. She has said she no longer feels the need to prove herself. Everyone has to find themselves in different ways. Cyrus just took a unique route as she matured into adulthood.

    19 Fine: Selena Gomez

Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomez is dominating the music world. She went from an adorable Disney star to a global superstar.

While her relationship with Justin Bieber was always in the tabloids, she’s kept her career together without any major scandals. She starred in the edgy film Spring Breakers, which helped people see her as a mature adult rather than a child actress. She’s released multiple successful albums, and her songs are playing on radio stations all over the world.

Gomez has taken a few breaks from her career, like when she cancelled her tour to focus on her mental health and had to have a kidney transplant, but she’s always been able to take care of her issues privately. She is currently helping produce the second season of 13 Reasons Why and making music.

    18 Crazy: Bella Thorne

Bella Thorne was one of the stars on Shake It Up. Since her Disney days, she’s starred in The Duff and Famous in Love. She has also made quite a reputation for herself.

Thorne has pierced her nose, dyed her hair various colors, and has frequently sported skimpy bikinis. She posts videos bragging about being drunk, overshares information about her relationships, and takes videos and pictures of herself naked. There are countless videos of her making out with boys and girls on Twitter. Rumors have also flown around about her cheating on different partners.

Thorne has even insulted her Disney past, insisting she never wanted to be a “Disney girl.” She has certainly tried to shed that image of herself. Despite all of the criticism, she isn’t ashamed of who she is and continues to live life the way she wants.

    17 Fine: Raven-Symoné

Raven-Symoné was the star of the popular show That’s So Raven and also starred in the Cheetah Girls movies. She grew into adulthood without any major scandals and has been quite successful.

She was the star of Sister Act on Broadway. She is also an accomplished singer who has released multiple albums. Her last album was released in , but she tweeted that she intends to release new music again. She was busy for a few years with the popular talk show, The View. She began as a guest host, but became a regular after Rosie O’Donnell left the show.

Symoné eventually left The View to focus on producing and starring in her new Disney show, Raven’s Home. It seems the Disney star has come full circle.

    16 Crazy: Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan stole everyone’s heart in the Disney remake of the movie The Parent Trap. She went on to star in films like Freaky Friday and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, launching her into stardom. Now, Lohan is known for going to rehab and spending time in jail.

Lohan was one of the most popular child stars in the world, which, unfortunately, made her a magnet for paparazzi. She was always partying with scandalous stars like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, which pushed her further away from her squeaky-clean Disney image.

Controversial photos of the actress continued to surface, and they included everything from sexual poses to doing drugs and drinking excessively. Lohan admitted to having a drug problem, and was in and out of rehab and hospitals for years.

It seems as though all of those issues are in the past, now, as Lohan tries to get her life back on the right path. She moved away from her crazy Hollywood life to London, where she resides quietly. She seems to have found peace outside of the spotlight.

    15 Fine: Hilary Duff

Who could forget the Disney show Lizzie McGuire? Hilary Duff played the lead role of Lizzie, and Disney fans were obsessed with her. Duff also released a self-titled album and sang on the soundtrack for the Lizzie McGuire Movie. She was a teen-queen.

While her image has remained relatively clean, there was some drama when she dated 25 year old singer Joel Madden while she was only She also had to file restraining order against two male stalkers.

Other than that, though, her career was fairly scandal free. After her time on Disney Channel, she went on to appear in Gossip Girl, Community, and Two and a Half Men. She released her fifth album in and it made the Billboard Top

Duff is currently married to a hockey player and has an adorable child named Luca. She has said main focus now is her family.

    14 Crazy: Shia LaBeouf

While Shia LaBeouf is well-known for the Transformers films, he was also one of the stars of the Disney show Even Stevens from He was the perfect choice to play the mischievous little brother.

Since growing into adulthood, he’s had some pretty interesting moments. He’s had trouble with both alcohol and anger issues, and he’s been arrested multiple times. He’s been involved with trespassing, disorderly conduct, assault, and drunk driving. He once appeared on the red carpet with a bag over his head that read “I am not famous anymore.” When asked about it, his strange response was “I am a bag. Ask me a bag question.”

He has also been a part of multiple accusations of plagiarism. A short film he “wrote,” as well as some of his comic books, were copied from other artists. He created an “I’m Sorry” exhibit to apologize for plagiarism that included the same bag from the red carpet. He sat at a table with the bag over his head, saying nothing. LaBeouf also refused to shower for week while filming Fury. These are just a few of the odd, erratic things he has done the past few years.

    13 Fine: Zendaya

Zendaya starred with Bella Thorne in Shake It Up on Disney Channel. While Thorne has endured her fair share of scandals, Zendaya has managed to stay out of trouble. After her time on Shake It Up, she became the lead of the show K.C. Undercover. The actress also appeared in the Disney films Frenemies and Zapped.

In , Zendaya launched her music career with the release of her single “Swag It Out”. She has released one self-titled studio album, but she’s supposedly working on other music. She was also the youngest contestant to appear on Dancing With The Stars. The actress scored her first big screen movie when she was cast as Michelle in Spiderman: Homecoming.

The only scandal Zendaya has been involved in was when Giuliana Rancic made a joke about Zendaya’s hair smelling odd. She immediately took to social media to explain why the comment was racist and wrong. Mattel actually rewarded the actress for her response by creating a Zendaya Barbie.

    12 Crazy: Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato starred in Disney Channel’s movie Camp Rock as well as the show Sonny With a Chance. While she is now dominating the music scene, she had a really rocky patch in

She made headlines when she punched a backup dancer while on tour with the Jonas Brothers. She then checked herself into rehab, where she was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. The singer had been battling that, as well as addiction and bulimia, for years.

She couldn’t go half an hour without cocaine. While a lot of people would try to cover up these experiences or be ashamed of them, Lovato is very open about her mental health issues. She uses her fame to speak up about eating disorders and body image.

Since her Disney days, Lovato has voiced Smurfette for The Smurfsand appeared in Glee. She is about to release her sixth studio album. Although she had a couple rough years, she didn’t let it slow down her career.

11 Fine: Dylan and Cole Sprouse

Twins Dylan and Cole Sprouse were every Disney Channel fan’s favorite pair of brothers on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and later, The Suite Life on Deck. While fame proved to be a bit too much for some stars, the pair never really had any issues.

After their time on Disney, they kept a fairly low profile. When asked how they avoided the pitfalls of child stardom, Cole said he thinks a lot of it had to do with his education. Both Dylan and Cole attended NYU. They purposefully distanced themselves from the industry.

Now, Cole stars on the CW drama Riverdale as Jughead Jones. Dylan, on the other hand, isn’t going back into acting. Instead, he’s opening a mead brewery in New York. Both brothers are absolutely hilarious on their Twitters.

    10 Crazy: Orlando Brown

Orlando Brown played the lovable character Eddie on That’s So Raven. While Raven-Symoné and Anneliese van der Pol are both back for Raven’s Home, Brown wasn’t asked to be on the show. That could have something to do with his controversial past.

While he has appeared in a few projects since his Disney days, he’s better known for making headlines. In , he was charged with public intoxication and disturbing the peace when he threatened to kill a woman. Two years later, he was charged with battery and drug possession. He allegedly hit his girlfriend and was carrying meth.

None of the above charges are something that Disney wants to be associated with. Despite these problems, though, he appeared in Straight Outta Comptonand he started a music label.

    9 Fine: Christy Carlson Romano

Christy Carlson Romano was the voice of Kim Possible and the big sister on the show Even Stevens, where she starred alongside Shia LaBeouf. While he has been involved in lots of controversy, she has managed to keep her clean image.

While her career has quieted down, she did appear as Belle in the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast. She also played Kate in Avenue Q. Romano was a part of multiple ABC Family films. She attended college, where she studied political science. The actress has also tried her hand at writing, directing, and producing.

It seems as though Romano has had a calm, normal life since her time on Disney Channel. While she’s not necessarily making it big, she’s still working in the industry and seems content.

    8 Crazy: Lalaine Vergara

Miranda on Lizzie McGuire was the best friend every girl wanted. She was played by Lalaine Vergara, who has kept a fairly low profile since her time on the show. Except for what she calls her “dark years."

Vergara also starred in the Disney Channel original film You Wish. She tried to launch a music career in , but her album was never released. Things went south when she was caught with crystal meth. In , she admitted to possession of the drug. She managed to keep it fairly quiet, and her record was wiped clean after her drug treatment program was finished.

Today, Vergara says she’s living a better, more relaxed life. She did make a short cameo appearance in the film Easy A, which was hard to catch. While she’s not doing much acting these days, fans can keep up with her on social media.

    7 Fine: Kyle Massey

As another That’s So Raven star, Kyle Massey had an uneventful transition into adulthood compared to his co-star Orlando Brown. The actor also played the lead in the spin-off, Cory In the House and voiced the character Milo on Fish Hooks.

After his time on Disney, he appeared on the shows Gotham and Comedy Bang! Bang! Additionally, Massey appeared in season eleven of Dancing With The Stars, suprising everyone with his dance moves. He and his partner were runner-ups on the show. Massey was recently a part of the action film Lowlifes, which comes out in December.

In , there were some crazy rumors that the star was dying of cancer, but he quickly denounced them. He was actually upset that people would make light of the illness, and asked fans to stop spreading the rumor.

    6 Crazy: Jake T. Austin

Jake T. Austin played the adorable little brother, Max, on Wizards of Waverly Place. After Disney, however, he’s had a few struggles.

After Wizards, he went on to star in the ABC Family show The Fosters. The role, it seems, may have gone to his head. In , the actor has a meltdown backstage at the Teen Choice Awards. Witnesses claimed that Austin yelled because a worker didn’t know who he was. He even threw things at a staffer and stomped off.

On top of that, Austin was involved in a four car hit-and-run. His car slammed into three parked cars. People inside the car threw a bottle of vodka out the window, and called a service to pick them up before the cars arrived. One of them matched Austin’s description. The actor has also been arrested for drunk driving.

    5 Fine: The Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers were all the rage from about They were in the original movie Camp Rock and had their own show, called JONAS, and released multiple studio albums. The band sported purity rings and were every girl’s dream. While they certainly don’t have purity rings anymore, they have all turned out okay.

Kevin was the oldest member of the band. He married his wife Danielle in , and they starred in their own reality show called Married to Jonas. They now have two children. Joe is now the lead singer of the band DNCE. While he admitted to smoking weed with Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato during his Disney days, he never had any particularly crazy moments. Nick has continued his career as a solo artist. He’s appeared in the shows Scream Queens and Kingdom.

While neither Nick nor Joe have had any meltdowns, they’ve made it clear that they aren’t kids anymore. They’ve both posed as underwear models and aren’t afraid to sing about sex. They’ve moved past their innocent Disney days.

    4 Crazy: Zac Efron

Actor Zac Efron got his start in Disney’s High School Musical. During his days as Troy Bolton, he became a teen heartthrob, as well as a millionare.

While the actor didn’t have a public meltdown like others on this list, he did have a drug problem. He quietly checked himself into rehab for a cocaine addiction. Sources said he was spiraling out of control and needed help. Efron even got into a fight with a homeless man. He also admitted to have an alcohol problem and stated that he was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. He’s also seeing a therapist.

Efron seems to be doing great now. He’s starred in comedies like Neighbors, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, and Baywatch. He has said he feels happier and healthier than ever before.

    3 Fine: Ashley Tisdale

Ashley Tisdale played Sharpay in the High School Musical movies as well as Maddie on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. She also voiced Candace on Phineas and Ferb. She’s grown into adulthood and is still thriving.

Tisdale did pose nude, but it wasn’t anything super scandalous-- her pictures were in Allure magazine. She’s still acting in film and on television. She starred in the comedy film Amateur Night in The actress is also a producer on the show Young and Hungry and guest starred in one episode.. There are five seasons of the show right now.

She’s currently a voice actress for the cartoon Skylanders Academy. She’ll also voice a princess in the animated movie Charming alongside Demi Lovato, Sia, and Wilmer Valderaama. It comes out in

    2 Crazy: Britney Spears

While Britney Spears is known for being a pop singer, she was actually a Disney star at one time. She was on the Mickey Mouse Club alongside Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, and Christina Aguilera.

Everyone remembers when Spears had her major breakdown and shaved her head, but that wasn’t all she went through. Before her freak out, she overdosed on amphetamines. She was taken to a hospital and placed under psychiatric hold. She shaved her head days later and was in and out of treatment centers for a while. She also has a history of trouble with the police, including a hit and refusing to relinquish custody of her children.

Today, Spears has gotten her life back together. She was a judge on X Factor and has a residency in Las Vegas. Her last show there is in December of

    1 Fine: Emily Osment

While Miley Cyrus was the star of Hannah Montana, Emily Osment played Hannah’s best friend Lily. Unlike her co-star, she has managed to keep her good-girl image since her time on Disney Channel.

Since her days as Lily, her acting career hasn’t slowed down. She attended college before returning to the small screen. Osment starred in the ABC Family film Cyberbully and she played the lead role in their series Young and Hungry, which was produced by Ashley Tisdale. She also appeared in the independent drama Love Is All You Need?.

Osment has attempted a career in music. Her most popular songs are “Love Sick” and “Let’s Be Friends”. While she did release an album, it received mixed reviews and didn’t do well on the charts. She hasn’t released new music for years. Osment seems happy focusing on her acting, all the while staying away from the spotlight in her personal life.

20 Disney Channel Stars Who Look Completely Unrecognizable From The s

The Disney Channel was a television network that was created in order to provide family-friendly TV at all hours of the day, and has been going strong for a very long time.

As a result, it has aired a huge amount of content over that time and helped to create an incredibly long list of stars that went on to do big things. Some of the actors they featured in prominent roles no longer take part in the business, sometimes because of trouble that they’ve gotten into.

Predominantly employing young people in their starring roles, no matter what their career prospects are today, the Disney Channel stars of the s have changed a lot in the years since then.

In some cases, that just means their position in life is different, but there are others who’ve undergone a major physical transformation.

In order for someone to be up for possible inclusion on this list, they first and foremost need to have appeared in content that was created in order to air as a part of The Disney Channel’s programming.

For our purposes, it makes no difference whatsoever if they were involved in the production of an original movie or TV show. Other than that, the only other requirement is that they look markedly different than they did in the s.

The history of the network inspired us to put together this list of 20 Disney Channel Stars Who Look Completely Unrecognizable From The s.

20 Alyson Stoner - The Suite Life of Zack & Cody

Alyson Stoner was a big deal early in her life, as she was someone who first rose to prominence as a part of several music videos, including clips for Missy Elliott’s “Work It” and Eminem’s “Just Lose It”.

Not satisfied with that alone, she also became a movie star and television personality, appearing in Disney Channel series like The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, in which she had a recurring role.

She took part of the show’s first two seasons as Max, a friend of the two male leads.

Her character often wore pigtails and was seen as a tomboy, even often being mistaken for a boy. Twenty-four years old at this point, she has since developed into a beautiful young woman who carries herself with confidence and would never be mistaken for a guy.

19 Anna Maria Perez de Tagle – Hannah Montana/Camp Rock series

Anna Maria Perez de Tagle is a multi-talented person who has had a great deal of success as both an actor and singer. She was able to land a recurring role in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, where she played Ashley -- one of the main rivals to the lead played by Miley Cyrus.

A great boon to her career, fans of that show may not have liked her character very much, but we're sure that she loved what it did for her career.

However, she also appeared in two Camp Rock movies, both of which were Disney Channel original movies. Twenty-seven years old today, her look has absolutely matured. Although she was cute when she was younger, time has definitely graced her with a demure glow.

18 Jake Thomas – Lizzie McGuire/Cory in the House

Jake Thomas was cast in more than one Disney Channel program, much like other Disney Channel stars.

First becoming a star because of his role in Lizzie McGuire as the mischievous little brother of the show’s titular character, Thomas instantly grew in popularity. Continuing on the series until its demise, he then went on to have a recurring role in the series Cory in the House.

This time around playing the chief rival of the show’s lead, he always ended up on the losing end of their battles.

No longer looking like someone who should be cast as a villain, Thomas has aged really extremely well and looks like he would now make a fine leading man in any series or movie.

17 Debby Ryan - The Suite Life on Deck

Debby Ryan is in the midst of trying to transition into more mainstream success, but she began her career in children’s programming like Barney and Friends.

She then gained the attention of the Disney Channel and spent years acting on their shows. This included landing a starring role in the series The Suite Life on Deck.

Cast as Bailey Pickett, her character stood out for her extreme intelligence and for the fact that she grew up on a small town farm. Portrayed as the girl next door in the show, her image could be pretty sticky sweet, which was totally fitting for a show aimed at kids.

Twenty-four years old today, Ryan is now all grown up and seems to enjoy wearing outfits that accentuate her curvy figure.

16 Daniel Curtis Lee - Zeke and Luther

The Disney Channel and Nickelodeon have a lot in common-- they've both spent years competing with one another for young talent. As a result, you don’t see an awful lot of young actors working on series for both entities. However, Daniel Curtis Lee is the exception.

Starting out on Nickelodeon's Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, he then moved over to the Disney XD series Zeke & Luther.

Cast in Zeke & Luther as Kornelius "Kojo" Jonesworth, his character was the rival of the two leads. However, over time they eventually became friends.

Though he was dressed as a skater on television during his younger years, at twenty-six years old, he has now become an extremely good-looking fellow who dresses to the nines.

    15 LaLaine Vergara-Paras – Lizzie McGuire/You Wish!

As a real mainstay of The Disney Channel at one time, LaLaine Vergara-Paras was all over the network in the early s.

As one of the stars of the series Lizzie McGuire, she played Miranda Sanchez, the best friend of the series' lead.

Evidently not busy enough working on that show at the time, she also starred in a movie called You Wish! which came out in , part way during the original run of Lizzie McGuire.

Thirty years old now, Vergara-Paras no longer seems to act much these days, as her music is taking center-stage. Seemingly a colorful person, she could still be a lot of fun but her look has definitely changed, especially considering the fact that she is no longer sporting her infamous pigtails.

    14 Nick Jonas – Jonas/Camp Rock

Nick Jonas is one of the three siblings who became known as the Jonas Brothers, who were once among the most talked about pop acts in the world.

The Jonas Brothers were a real-life band that released several songs. Nick Jonas and his brothers also signed on to star in the Disney Channel show Jonas, which stood out on the network because it was filmed like a classic sitcom.

Jonas also appeared in an episode of Hannah Montana and had a supporting role in Camp Rock before Jonas.

In the years since, Nick and his brother’s band broke up. As a solo singer, Nick is arguably the most successful of the trio.

Still a world-famous pop star, Nick is more popular than ever and his looks have only improved. He has lost his once-goofy hair and traded-in his stick thin body for a ripped superhero look.

13 Amy Bruckner – Phil Of The Future

As one of several series that the Disney Channel aired that had a sci-fi aspect to it, Phil of the Future focused on a family from the future that travels back in time and attempts to fit into society there.

Featuring the titular Phil in the main role, it also relied heavily on the performance of Amy Bruckner as his younger sister Pim.

Bruckner was cast as a character who thinks highly of herself and was likely to get into loads of trouble -- she was a major part of what made the show fun to watch.

Twenty-seven years old now, Bruckner has lost her once-chubby cheeks and now sports short hair, which frames her face completely differently.

    12 Bobb'e J. Thompson – That’s So Raven

As an actor who was great at playing frustrating characters, Bobb'e J. Thompson was a very talented child star. Though he was probably best known for his potty-mouthed character in the movie Role Models, only a couple of years earlier he was still a major part of the Disney Channel show That’s So Raven.

Cast as Stanley, his character was obsessed with Raven and had a real love-hate relationship with Eddie and Cory.

As a youngster at the time, Thompson's over-sized personality and tiny body allowed him to get away with a lot of hijinks on the show.

This is something that he certainly couldn’t rely on any longer, as at the age of twenty-two, he has become totally ripped and sports many tattoos that match his older, more rugged look.

11 Olesya Rulin – High School Musical series/Halloweentown High

Although Olesya Rulin was never cast as one of the main characters in the Disney Channel movies that she was a part of, we feel totally comfortable including her on a list focused on the network.

She was a memorable part of the High School Musical series -- a trilogy of movies that became a sensation upon their release and aired on the channel multiple times over.

Portraying Kelsi Nielsen in High School Musical, Rulin's character was good friends with two of the main characters, which allowed her to share the screen with them.

On top of that, she also played a supporting role in the Disney Channel original movie Halloweentown High.

She may have looked like she could easily fade into the background before, but these days Rulin is thirty-two and would stand out in just about any crowd.

10 Dylan Sprouse - The Suite Life of Zack & Cody/ The Suite Life on Deck

As a former child star who landed his first starring role in Grace Under Fire when he was still an infant, Dylan Sprouse later managed to land a starring role in the Adam Sandler movie Big Daddy.

As one of of two identical twin brothers that shared roles at times, Dylan and his brother Cole became the leads in the Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, each playing their own roles on the show.

Continuing to play his character in the spin-off, Sprouse was integral to the success of The Suite Life on Deck as well.

Though he appeared alongside his brother in the series, over time it became impossible to ignore that Sprouse had put on some pounds and it became easier to tell them apart.

Twenty-five years old now, Sprouse has dropped all of the excess weight that he once carried, but has added a great deal of length to his hair.

9 Moisés Arias - Hannah Montana

Hannah Montana’s lead character had a lot of loyal friends and family around her in each episode.

It doesn’t mean that everyone liked her, though, and it wasn’t just the so-called mean girls who were a problem. Instead, the show’s main antagonist was Rico Suave, a young boy who was played by an actor named Moisés Arias.

Rico was the only main character who wasn’t trustworthy enough to know Miley’s secret, but that’s okay considering that he had a billionaire father to brag about instead.

Twenty-three years old today, Arias doesn’t look like he wants to flaunt his riches at all. Instead, he dresses like any college kid and he looks like a bit edgier which makes him also unrecognizable, his distinctive nose aside.

8 Liliana Mumy - Higglytown Heroes

Higglytown Heroes was a show on Disney Junior that ran from to Unlike the other actors on this list, Liliana Mumy only provided her voice to Disney Channel series.

With that said, she also appeared on screen several times during the same era in movies like Cheaper by the Dozen and the Santa Clause series.

Cast as Twinkie in Higglytown Heroes, her character was one of the nesting dolls at the core of the show. Higglytown Heroes featured celebrity guest stars in each episode.

Mumy was an adorable, little redhead as a child. She is now a twenty-three-year-old woman with hair that is still the same color, but her face has dramatically changed as she matured.

    7 Orlando Brown – That’s So Raven

Though Orlando Brown's life has not been easy in recent years, most longtime fans of the Disney Channel will recognize the star from his role on That's So Raven.

Previously a highly coveted child star who appeared in sitcoms like Moesha and Family Matters, he is most famous for his role on That’s So Raven as Raven's close friend Eddie Thomas.

He was a core part of the series and his character was very entertaining to watch.

No longer a working actor, Brown has received a lot of coverage since due to a large number of criminal acts that he has committed.

No longer seeming like the fun loving guy that used to appear as on television, Brown now has more than one visible tattoo, and judging from his mugshots, he has become a lot more stern.

6 Demi Lovato – Camp Rock series

As a former star of the children’s show Barney and Friends, Demi Lovato seemed to be extremely focused on her acting career when she was younger.

Best known as a singer these days, Lovato appeared on The Disney Channel as the star of the Camp Rock movies, which featured both her acting and singing skills.

Cast as Mitchie Torres, her character came from a humble background. In order to attend the titular Camp Rock, she and her mother had to work in the camp's kitchen.

Playing a down to earth character in this movie, she often looked unassuming whenever she wasn't singing.

As someone who has struggled with an eating disorder in the past, Lovato now fully embraces her body as it is and dresses in a flashy way, which can be seen through her amazing makeup and hairstyle.

5 Keke Palmer – Jump In!

As one of the most talented people on this list, Keke Palmer seems to be good at everything she tries. For instance, she landed a recording contract during her teen years, and there is no doubt that she has the looks to be a major model if she wanted to.

Despite all of that, Palmer put aside her music career and has chosen to focus on acting.

Palmer was one of the stars of the Disney Channel original movie Jump In! The movie itself revolves around competitive jump rope.

As teenager at the time of the movie, Palmer was pretty cute and charming. However, we never expected her to grow into the exquisite beauty she has become today.

    4 Alana Austin – Motorcrossed

Alana Austin initially was best known for starring in the sitcom Ink, which featured the real-life couple Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen.

However, unfortunately the show did not last, and Austin was later set to appear in the Disney Channel original movie Motorcrossed.

In a movie that revolved around motocross racing, Austin played a young woman who loved to race but had a father who did not approve of her involvement in the dangerous sport.

Though she sported short hair and was often seen with dirt on her face in Motorcorssed, Austin has changed a lot in recent years.

She is now thirty-five years old and looks like nothing like she used to. Her stunning blue eyes remained the same, but her longer hairstyle, and confident appearance shine through.

3 Phillip Van Dyke – Halloweentown series

Considering that Phillip Van Dyke is no longer in the Hollywood scene, we were surprisingly still able to find a recent image of the former star out there.

Best known for his role in the Halloweentown movies, which were Disney Channel original productions, his character Luke was extremely memorable.

Revealed to be a goblin who briefly worked for the series’ villain in exchange for making him handsome, Luke later does his best to make up for aiding the bad guy.

On top of that, it also seemed like Luke and the series' main character could have become a couple at any moment. However, this never came to pass, as Luke was absent from the third and fourth movie.

As redhead in his earlier years, Dyke's hair has gone grey and it is amazing how much it changed his look.

    2 Raven-Symoné - That’s So Raven

As someone who has shown herself to be amazingly adept at surviving in the entertainment business, Raven-Symoné was introduced to the television audience as a part of The Cosby Show’s cast.

Remaining a part of that series until it ended, Raven-Symoné then went on to appear in several other shows.

Opting to become a part of the Disney Chanel in , she started out appearing in between shows as a part of the Express Yourself interstitials, but eventually landed a role as the titular character in That’s So Raven.

Raven-Symoné has reprised her character in a new series named Raven’s Home, and she now looks quite different.

She is someone who seems to enjoy expressing herself with her look-- from one year to the next, her hairstyle and color is bound to change.

1 Bella Thorne – Shake It Up

Bella Thorne managed to find success after her first show, Shake It Up, ended in

Currently the star of a show called Famous in Love, she also seems to pop up in an endless array of movies.

In fact, in the year alone, she had four movies come out. Currently, she is featured in five movies set to be released in

Of course, everything really took off for her when she landed the lead role in the show Shake It Up, which premiered in

Though the show was as innocent as the rest of Disney Channel’s content, it seems like Thorne felt stifled by that because, as a twenty-year-old, she sports piercings, outrageous makeup, and colorful hair.

Want to be a Disney Channel Star? - Disney Channel

I was today years old when I learned what Lizzie McGuire’s little brother Matt looks like now (completely different, jump to slide 32) and no, I am not okay, thanks for asking. But truly, that's just the tip of this Disney then-and-now iceberg, all 60+ slides of which have me quite literally screaming "FEEL OLD YET???" at myself in the mirror. (Answer: Yes. I do. I feel old.)

It's simply a fact that everyone from our favorite childhood shows has aged the hell up—and I don't just mean Mickey Mouse Club A-listers like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, and Justin Timberlake. I also mean randoms from Disney original movies you completely forgot existed—not to mention the likes of the Jonas Brothers, the cast of Hannah Montana, and everyone else from Lizzie McGuire. Basically, what I'm trying to say here is that Disney’s always iconic and sometimes questionable fleet of original TV shows and movies introduced tons of talent into Hollywood, and the time has come to check in on some of our old (literally, in most cases) faves.

Also, please be advised that there are some legit megastars on this list who you probably forgot began their careers on Disney. But yep, even the biggest celebs started out awkwardly standing there, waving a wand, and saying those iconic words, “Hi, I’m ___ and you’re watching Disney Channel!” Kay, let's get to it while I apply some retinol to my forehead.
