'Fortnite' Search Hidden F in New World Loading Screen Location Challenge Guide

Fortnite Chapter 2 is underway, and its first set of challenges has arrived. Dubbed the New World Challenges, these tasks are required to unlock a special skin towards the end of Season 1. While other letters will be available in subsequent weeks, this guide details the location of the hidden F in the New World Loading Screen.

Fortnite New World Challenges

Before getting to the location of the hidden F itself, let's first recap all the New World Challenges for Week 1. As players get accustomed to the Chapter 2 map, most of these challenges are pretty straightforward to complete.

  • Discover Named Locations (10)
  • Eliminations at Lazy Lake or Misty Meadows (three)
  • Discover Landmarks (10)
  • Ride a Motorboat in different matches (three)
  • Deal damage with Assault Rifles to opponents ()
  • Search chests at Sweaty Sands or Retail Row (seven)
  • Eliminations in different matches (five)
  • Catch a weapon using a Fishing Rod
  • Deal damage with SMGs, Shotguns, and Pistols in a single match (three)
  • Carry a Knocked player 10m (10)
  • Search hidden 'F' found in the New World Loading Screen

This guide deals with the very last objective on this list, as it's clearly the most obtuse one of all. Fortnite fans have collected plenty of hidden letters in various modes over the past few years, but this hidden F is the latest member of the bunch. It's time to get searching.

Fortnite Search Hidden F in the New World Location

In order to find the hidden F you must first unlock the New World Loading Screen seen below. It's earned by completing any eight of the basic tasks listed above. Once you've done that, the New World Loading Screen will be accessible and viewable from your in-game Locker.

The key to this particular Loading Screen is the city off to the right called Lazy Lake. If you look close enough, there's something floating to the right of that location. That's where we need to land to collect the hidden F.

As marked on the map below, players need to head east of Lazy Lake.

This is what the location looks like once you land there. The hidden F should be a pretty obvious find.

This New World Challenge is linked to a set of Alter Ego Challenges exclusive to the Season 1 Battle Pass. Collect all eight hidden letters in the word "FORTNITE" over the next eight weeks, and you'll be rewarded with this season's special Battle Pass skin. That's all you need to know to find the hidden F in Fortnite Chapter 2.

Fortnite is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and mobile.

Fortnite F Location: Where To Find The F In The New World Loading Screen

We're partway through Chapter 2 of Fortnite, and while much has changed this season, one thing that remains the same is challenges. Several sets of missions are available now, including those involve visiting EGO outposts and searching the hidden letter N, but it's not too late to go back to earlier challenges and knock them out before Season 1 comes to a close. You have until December to clear these tasks and earn their rewards, but there's an extra bonus if you can complete at least eight challenges from a given set: a special loading screen that contains a clue pointing to a secret letter hidden somewhere around the island.

Collecting all of the letters throughout the season will spell out the word "Fortnite" and unlock a special skin. The first thing you'll need to do is search the hidden F found in the New World loading screen. If you're not sure where to look, the guide below will help you find the letter and complete the challenge.

Where Is The Hidden "F" Location?

As the challenge states, the F's location is hidden in the New World loading screen, which you'll unlock after completing any eight of the New World challenges. The loading screen in question is the main piece of keyart for Chapter 2, featuring a group of characters standing on a cliff overlooking Fortnite's new map. You can see the screen below:

Fortnite: Chapter 2 New World loading screen

If you look closely, you'll be able to spot the F near Lazy Lake, one of the new named locations that appeared with the start of Chapter 2. The town is nestled in the southeast portion of the island--that's where you'll need to go to find the F. You can see exactly where the letter is located on the map below.

How To Complete The Challenge

Once you know where the F is hidden, you'll need to head to Lazy Lakes to retrieve it. The letter will appear on a hill just east of the town. Make your way up there, then interact with the letter once it pops up to collect it and you'll complete the challenge, netting you 14, season XP.

There will be a new hidden letter to find every week in Chapter 2, Season 1, so be sure to return to GameSpot as the season progresses for more challenge guides. To catch up on everything else that's happening in Fortnite, be sure to check out our other coverage below.

Fortnite hidden letters F, O, R, T, N, I, T, E and XP Drops in loading screen locations explained

Fortnite hidden letters are bonus collectables to find as part of the Fortnite Chapter 2 Battle Pass.

To unlock each one, you need to unlock the Loading Screens from each week's set of Challenges.

Each new one will add a hidden letter location - starting with a hidden F - for you to then find somewhere on the map.

On this page:

Fortnite hidden letters and XP Drops in loading screens explained

Each week in Fortnite, a new Loading Screen can be unlocked by completing eight of that week's set of Challenges.

If you view these loading screens closely, it actually hints at the location of a hidden letter that can be collected on the map.

Head to that location, and collect the Letter to add it to your list.

If you do this across all letter challenges, you'll unlock a bonus skin - Sorana.

This concept isn't new for Fortnite. Like previous loading screen rewards, you need to have unlocked that specific loading screen before it will appear on the map.

Seasons 4 to 9 unlocked a variety of skins once you found their respective loading screen collectables, which were The Visitor, The Enforcer, AIM, The Prisoner and Ruin and Singularity respectively.

Once you have all eight letters, subsequent Loading Screens will offer XP Drops each week. The concept is the same - find the location hinted at in the Loading Screen, but instead of a Letter, you'll be rewarded with a chunk of XP instead.

And, as always, you have until the end of Chapter 2 Season 1 to unlock the various loading screens and skin - otherwise they are gone for good.

Hidden F location in Fortnite &#;New World&#; loading screen

Fortnite skins have taken on a life of their own since the game came out. Back in the early days, we couldn&#;t imagine spending money on a free game. Now, hundreds of dollars later, we&#;re still padding our lockers as collectors of in-game cosmetics.

Some skins tell a lot about the player wearing them. A Peely? They&#;re just trying to goof around and have some fun. A Dynamo? Sweat is probably pouring onto their keyboard at all times.

Today, we&#;re taking a look at the most hated skins in Fortnite &#; the skins that elicit an immediate reaction from opponents. You better be ready for some backlash if you post a clip while wearing one of these skins.

5. Female Soccer Skins

Female Soccer Skins have been hated ever since they first came out. This might have been the first &#;sweaty&#; skin to come to Fortnite, and it remains in the category to this day. However, it&#;s been made available in the Item Shop quite frequently so everyone from sweats to casuals owns it.

&#;Soccer skin&#; means more than just the skin that someone is wearing, at this point. It&#;s a term that longtime Fortnite players will likely remember for the rest of their gaming careers. However, because of its frequent item shop appearances, it&#;s last on the list.

4. Custom Superhero Skins

These skins have cause quite a stir with players and have disrupted the competitive scene on more than one occasion. The actual name of these skins is Boundless, and they are among the most customizable skins in the game. Many players bought them for their versatility at first, but they were quickly abused by competitive players.

Players could set their skins to have an all-black or all-white color scheme which would make them harder to see. These color combos were banned from the game, but players still found a way to make their skins harder to see. This lead to these sweaty skins being banned outright in all competitive play.

3. Anime Skins

This category of skins is pretty new since &#;anime&#; skins were introduced in Chapter 2 Season 5. A bundle of anime skins was also released during Season 6 which contains some of the sweatiest and most hated Fortnite Skins.

Chigusa, Megumi, and Yuki are part of the Cyber Infiltration bundle, and Lexa was given to players who reached a certain level of the Season 5 Battle Pass. For some reason, players hate these cell-shaded skins and would rather face off against Soccer Skins.

2. Surf Witch

When we asked Twitter which skins they hated the most, a large number of responses included Surf Witch. It seems this skin is hated because it&#;s used by &#;sweats&#; and also because of its lackluster design.

Surf Witch&#;s design isn&#;t much different from many of the other female skins. In fact, she has a very similar design to Haze, a preexisting skin. Many players think that Surf Witch is a cheap rip off of Haze, and their hate is derived from their similarities.

1. Dynamo

Dynamo is &#; by far &#; the most hated skin in Fortnite, at the moment. If you post a clip while wearing the Dynamo skin, you&#;re guaranteed to see the bulk of your replies consist of something along the lines of, &#;Dynamo, ew.&#;

We&#;re not exactly sure why Dynamo has its status as the most hated skin in Fortnite. Perhaps, it&#;s because Dynamo a very sweaty skin that isn&#;t difficult to get. Unlike Crystal and Aura, a lot of players think Dynamo is, simply, a bad skin on top of the fact that it&#;s incredibly sweaty.

Whatever the reason, wearing a Dynamo skin puts a target on your back. If you hit the island wearing Dynamo, then you better be as good as the skin suggests you are.

Does this list mean that you shouldn&#;t be wearing these skins in Fortnite? Absolutely not. In fact, a lot of players like playing the role of an antagonist in all sorts of games. It can be fun. Wear whatever you want &#; these are just some of the skins that are in the community&#;s crosshairs at the moment. We&#;re sure that it will change in the future. Wear what you want and have fun!
